Friends of Ocklynge is a registered charity created and led by the parents/guardians of children attending Ocklynge School.
We volunteer our time to run a whole host of events to raise funds for equipment, resources and activities to enhance our childrens education. The Friends also aims to bring families together socially in support of the school.
An elected Chair, Treasurer and Company Secretary lead a committee along with other trustees, supported by a wider Friends group, on behalf of all members (see below for current details).
All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if you only have a small amount of time available. Getting involved is a great way to meet new people, make friends and have fun. Every contribution makes a real difference.
Looking forward to this academic year, we hope to hold discos, quizzes, fun runs and so much more.
The funds will be used for the benefit of all the children in the school.
The Friends aims to respect the schools ethos when organising events. We have a Code of Conduct that binds all members and describes the importance for all members to conduct themselves ethically and professionally. This runs alongside our Constitution, a legally binding document. In order for the Friends to be successful, its essential that members follow these guidelines while acting in association with the Friends. Thanks for your cooperation.
There are many ways you can support the school. Whether you volunteer to sell tickets for one of our events, run a stall at one of our fairs, or simply donate a cake (it doesnt have to be home-made!), every contribution counts. You can join our mailing list to keep in touch and attend meetings (see below).
We are actively seeking match funding from banks and other companies, so please find out if your employers run a match funding scheme.
If you have any contact with local businesses who may be able to donate equipment or support us in other ways please let us know.
We hold regular meetings throughout the year to share ideas and plan our fundraising events. We try to hold them at different times of the day and evening, so all members can come along to at least some meetings. Please join us if you can, wed love to see you.
Look out for updates about our activities and requests in the schools newsletter.
Additionally, we can be contacted via email at friendsofocklynge@gmail.com
Please note that as we are all volunteers, we may not be able to answer queries quickly, but will do our best to respond to all enquiries.
You can also keep up to date with the latest news by following us on Facebook. Do like and share our posts so that we can reach as many people in the school community as possible.
Please be respectful in all communications and please do not share photos of other peoples children in posts without prior consent. For full details see our Social Media Policy

Thank you to all our members and supporters in the wider community for donating your time, expertise, energy and money. Thanks to you we can make a real difference to the educational experience of all our children!
